As a West Linn Parks & Rec program, Beaver Ambassadors provides management plans for wildlife conflict within city parks. Our biggest management project is at Mary S. Young Park where a single beaver colony has built 13 dams (and counting!) along a small small, channelized, incised stream called Heron Creek. Parks & Rec seized upon the opportunity about the importance, challenges, and rewards inherent in beaver management by hiring and developing the Beaver Ambassadors program. Check out these links to learn more about projects at the Mary S. Young beaver ponds and around West Linn!
